There are a number of parking options for fans attending Michigan State Spartan football games. To see a larger version of the map to the right, please click here. We also have directions to Spartan Stadium and Michigan State University.
Public parking is available on the campus of Michigan State University for $15. Parking in outlying lots are $10. Additionally, parking in north campus lots is $10, except in the Library lot 11. Alcohol-free public parking is available in the field in front of Munn Ice Arena for $15.
Priority Donor Parking
Priority parking is available to donors to the Spartan Fund. A minimum contribution of $250 is required for priority donor parking. You must also purchase the parking pass, which is $105 for automobiles and $210 for RVs.
Disabled parking is available for $10 in lot 48, south of the Natural Resources building. A shuttle bus is provided to shuttle fans between the lot and Spartan Stadium. The shuttle runs starting two hours before the game until a reasonable time after the game ends. A handicap permit is required.
Recreational vehicle parking is available for $30 in lot 92 on Service Road between Hagadorn and Bogue.
Shuttle Parking at Commuter Lot
Free public parking is available in lot 89 (commuter lot) at the corner of Mt. Hope Road and Farm Lane. Since Farm Lane is currently under construction for the railroad underpass project, there is no pedestrian or vehicle travel allowed on Farm Lane between Mt. Hope and Wilson Road. This means that you really must take the shuttle to Spartan Stadium. Usually there is a line to board the shuttle buses, but the wait doesn’t get bad until about 40 minutes until kickoff. The line to board the buses back to the commuter lot are usually very long.
Charter buses can park in lot 92 between Service Road and Bogue Street for $30.
The tennis courts are now designated as student parking. ASMSU conducts a lottery for parking passes in the tennis courts. Passes through ASMSU are $140 for the season, or $20 for individual games. Passes can be picked up at 307 Student Services. Passes that are not picked up by 4:00 pm Thursdays will be made available to the general public Fridays at 8:30 am.
Fans tailgating on the campus of Michigan State University should remember the 7,9,1 policy.
Campus parking lots open for tailgating for noon football games at 7 am.
For football games in the 3:30 pm time slot, parking lots will open at 9 am.
Parking lots will open at 1 pm for night games at Spartan Stadium.
Fans may continue to tailgate for up to 3 hours after the game ends.
Open Alcohol Policy
Fans who will be drinking during tailgate are encouraged to be aware of the open alcohol policy at MSU.
The MSU Board of Trustees has voted to ban all open alcohol containers on campus and in campus buildings. During home football games, enforcement of the alcohol ban will be suspended. Fans of legal drinking age may consume alcohol on the main campus during the hours that the parking lots are open for tailgating. Remember that Munn Field is alcohol-free at all times, as is the immediate area surrounding Spartan Stadium. So if you’re walking on the sidewalk in front of the student gate with a case of PBR on your shoulder, don’t be surprised when the cops ask you to get rid of the brews.
